I’m not sure about you but at this time of year my mind wanders to holidays. As each day gets longer we are one step closer to waving goodbye to Winter and saying hello to Spring. With the first big holiday of Easter just around the corner, it’s time to start making plans for the months ahead and giving yourself something to look forward to.
Ordinarily we might head for Skyscanner in search of some cheap sun and a dose of Vitamin D. But with global travel in a precarious position, now seems the ideal time to consider a staycation instead.
While we may not always have the weather on our side, Scotland certainly packs a punch when it comes to awe inspiring landscapes and playing in the great outdoors. So, in the spirit of the staycation it seemed only right to put the spotlight this month on our weekly trips to the Highlands on behalf of Great Rail.
Yep, you may be thinking what do we have to do with trains…surely they go faster than us and are more than capable of moving things? Well yes you are right but for the folk who have booked a highland tour with Great Rail, the travel is all part of the experience. And the last thing they want to be dealing with is lugging their large suitcase down the narrow passage of a train and jostling for space to store it.
So, while the happy holidaymakers board their train, their luggage is carefully loaded into our van, driven up to the Highlands and is waiting at their hotel for them on arrival. Talk about stress free travel!
