In the Press…

Here’s the full article from The Evening News on the 5th October:

When it comes to moving house, and all the stress that entails, you need to know you’re moving with a removal company you can trust; so you at least have one less thing to worry about.

Dave Burgess, founder of Edinburgh-based removal company Man With A Van Edinburgh Ltd, goes that extra mile – or in some cases, extra 500 miles – to ensure ultimate peace of mind, with trips from Edinburgh to the Highlands, and even as far as London for his customers.

The majority of Dave’s business comes from Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, and the company offers a multitude of services, including domestic removals and secure storage options for customers who might not be 100% ready to move to their new location yet.

Customer service is a number one priority for Man With A Van Edinburgh to deliver a seamless and reliable service their customers can count on. They specialise in helping people move house from 1 – 3 bedroom properties.

Man With A Van Edinburgh can provide boxes and offers a full packing service. Dismantling and reassembly – plus a full unpacking service at the other end – is also an option.

Dave told us: “Moving house is one of the most stressful things in someone’s life, and we come in and try to make things go as smooth as possible. Our role is not just lifting and shifting; we understand that customers are dealing with a lot of things before they move and on the day.

He continued: “We try our best to make sure the actual moving part is one less thing to worry about.”

With five vans and a team of 10, Man With A Van Edinburgh has come a long way from its humble beginnings in the early days almost 20 years ago – when, as a student studying physiotherapy, Dave first bought his van and moved a fridge for a friend.

Dave said: “I worked for a charitable school for disabled children in London, and needed some work experience for my Master’s degree in physiotherapy – they did a poster for me, and called me ‘Man with a Van’. That’s where the name came from.

“However, once I graduated and tried to do physio and manage the van, it became too much; I had to pick one. That’s what led me to where I am today.”

So, what’s next for Man With A Van Edinburgh? Dave has some big plans.

He told us: “The next step for us is definitely purpose-built Edinburgh premises, and to expand the business by increasing our trips to London and the Highlands. I’m feeling with the right team in place, the growth could be exponential.

“I feel like I’m playing chess, moving all my pieces around – and I’m excited about the future.”
